Today I have noticed that the famous Firefox SEO plugin SeoQuake has stopped working on google.com although it is working with the local version of google like google.co.in

Don’t Panic!!

The new google.com page has got some changes that caused this plugin stopped. Now its back to normal with the latest update.

Yes there is an Update: Just update the plugin and it will again start functioning.

If you feel that still its not working then alternatively you can use the another famous SEO tool “SEO for firefox”.

This tool function very similar to SeoQuake. Best of luck to all webmasters.

Everyone is well aware with Twitter. Also almost everyone like to get some reviews (Genuine reviews) before buying anything or before going to watch a movie. But what are the sources we choose for these reviews is a major concern.

We like to refer newspapers, some good sites but you know what, these star ratings are not that great and these reviews are not public reviews, I am not saying that these are 100% fake but yes not 100% genuine too. So whats the better way to get genuine review?

No addon support for Mozilla Firefox 4 beta

Mozilla has recently launched 4th version of Mozilla Firefox. Currently its a beta release.

If you don’t know about the beta version then read -> wikipedia for beta testing

Mozilla has reported that they are using Gecko 2.0 as web platform.

Currently there is no addon support for Mozilla Firefox 4 beta but new features are indicating that mozilla is introducing new Add-Ons Manager for this new release. I think they are working on something unique.

I have tried to install few addons but found no success, I am mozilla team is working on the issue. Hope they incorporate older addon support too just like windows 7 has done for windows XP software installation in compatibility mode.

We are aware of the fact that this is just a beta release and not a stable version of Mozilla Firefox version 4.

But I love the new features mozilla team is incorporating in this new Firefox version.

Stream Movie or Live TV with Skype

If you like to stream Live TV or some movie on skype then its very simple.

You may ask.

What is the use of it?

There are some sites which allow us to do the same. Like webcam broadcast then why skype?

The answer is :

ITS PRIVATE and no one can ban you from this broadcast.

Its nice when you want to watch a movie with your Girlfriend/Boyfriend or Family remotely.

Show some live event like football, cricket or some beauty contest to someone living abroad.

OK lets know the procedure.

Prerequisites or Softwares you need for this:

1) Skype. ( Go to skype.com and download the latest version.)

2) SplitCam or SuperWebCam. ( Search google for the latest version.)

3) If you are planning to broadcast some TV channel and you have TV Tuner card installed in your PC then you need FlyDs to change the channel. (Even trial version will work for the needful. The basic feature we need will not expire.)

Procedure:

Install Skype.

Don’t login yet. If you are logged in then logout and exit it from the startup tray.

Install SplitCam or SuperWebCam. (Anyone will work).

After install, Run SplitCam / SuperWebCam. Go to File > Video Source > Video File and select a video file you want to stream or broadcast.

Movie will start playing. Pause it.

Now login to Skype. Go to Tools > Options > Video Settings (Under “Gereral” Tab). Select Webcam to SuperWebCam or SplitCam. Click Save.

Now make a video call to your Friend. And Play the Movie.

I know there is some problem. Video is there but your friend won’t get Audio until you open the Stereo Mix setting.

For Sound Setting:

Double Click on the sound icon under startup. (Near to the Time of your computer).

Go to Options > Properties. Select Audio Input and check Stereo Mix if its unchecked.

When Sound Panel will display Stereo Mix. Make sure the checkbox under it is unchecked. Check means Mute.

Now your Friend will be able to listen the sound also.

Enjoy Movie together on Skype.

For TV broadcast

Install FlyDs too.

Now open SplitCam first. In Video Source select Your Capture Device (TV Tuner).

Open FlyDs. First scan for the channels and then change the channel. The changed channel will reflect in SplitCam.

Your SplitCam is selected as the video source in skype. So everything should work now.

For Audio

Go to Options > Properties. Select Audio Input and check Stereo Mix (or Line In) if its unchecked.

When Sound Panel will display Stereo Mix (or Line In). Make sure the checkbox under it, is unchecked. Check means Mute.

Enjoy Movie or Live TV with your friend or family.

Docx format. How to open a docx file

With the release of Microsoft office 2007 a new document file format docx came into picture.

This new docx format is not compatible with the previous releases of the Microsoft office.

Do you know that Gmail can be used as a folder to store files.
There can be many scenarios where you can use this feature.

Suppose you’re working on a project with one of your friend and often need to share files. If your friend is online then you can send the file by using a messenger. But what if he is offline then you have to send it via e-mail. This is a tiring process when you need to share file and keep record what have you shared and that can be used anytime in future.

Well there is a convenient way which can be used by upload your files on the Gmail server just like copy paste.

The software name is GMail Drive.

Just download the software and install it on your computer and on your friend’s computer. When you install it, a separate drive will be created in “My Computer” with the name Gmail drive.

Double click the Gmail drive. It will ask for the login, just fill in the login information and click OK. It might throw some error. Don’t worry the Gmail needs a secure connection. Click on “more” button and select “ use secure HTTP”.

Try logging again.

Hurray, you have just got a new 7GB hard disk for FREE.

Tell your friend to do the same by using the same login information.
Now whenever you need to share files just copy and paste the files into that Gmail Drive folder.
(Use a separate Gmail account. I am sure you won’t use it on your existing account )

Remember these fights are being sent just like a normal e-mail. So all the file size restrictions are applicable.

Open any Software | Program with windows RUN tool

Have you ever wondered that how to open any software from windows RUN tool.
I was also thinking the same when i was trying to open gtalk with RUN tool. While working on PC or on my laptop i don’t like to use mouse.
So I gave it a little thought and guess what I came with a solution. Windows path variable settings.

This path settings is available at:
Right click on “My Computer” -> Properties -> Cick on Advance Tab -> Environment Variable.
Under the “System Variables” box there is a variable name “Path” which contains some values.

You guys knows what this means but for those who doesn’t know here is the explanation.
Path variable contains some folder addresses separated with semicolon (;)
These folders contains all the executables files addresses which works with command prompt and RUN.
Some of the examples are “msconfig”, “ping”, “calc”.

I made a folder called “runcuts” (similar to shortcuts ) in C Drive. You can make this folder with any name you like.

Now go to “My Computer” -> Properties -> Cick on Advance Tab -> Environment Variable
and under the system variables box click on “Path” and then click the EDIT button.

Go to the end of the line and put a semicolon if its not there because we are going to input one more path there and write the path of our “runcut” folder. In my case its C:\runcut

Save the settings.

You are almost done !!!!

Done but nothing is working man…….Ya Ya i know. I mean, all the settings are done you just need to place shourcuts of programs or .exe in our newly created runcut folder.

Go to C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\ and copy googletalk.exe

Go to your runcut folder which is in the C Drive (C:\runcut) and paste shortcut of gtalk. Now rename the file with anything. In my case it was gtalk.

Now everything is complete.

Press Window Key+R that will bring the RUN on screen and type gtalk.(Windows key is available on your keyboard with a windows sign. In between Ctrl and Alt buttons on right hand side.)

gtalk at your service just sign in and enjoy. (This is really quick is it not.)

You can paste any program (.exe) short here and rename that with any name you want and run that with RUN.

They will become your personalized shortcuts in windows.

TROUBLE Shooting:
In case this is not working then do little trouble shooting:
1) Make sure the file you are pasting in the runcut folder should not contain .exe extention (the shourtcut name must be gtalk and not gtalkxxyyxxx.exe)

How to format external hard disk

There is not just one ways to format external hard disk.

Format via DOS, via GUI (right click and format).

If you are newbie then you can follow these simple steps to format external hard disk.

Attach External hard disk to the PC or laptop via a USB cable or serial cable

Go to MY COMPUTER and right click on the External hard disk icon. (It will be named with some Drive Letter like “E” or “F”).

Choose “format” from the list.

Click on start and your disk will be formated.

Few points to be noted.

If you choose “Quick Format” then disk will be formatted very quickly, because all the data inside the disk will be marked as unused although data is still inside the disk. But you can use the disk and new data will be over written on the old unused data.

(The crux is that you can still recover the data from such formatted disk with some recovery software)

If you don’t choose the Quick Format then all data sectors will be flushed with null and no recovery of data is possible from any software.

Format Hard Disk via MS DOS

Go to START > RUN.

Type “cmd” (without double quotes).

First identify what is the Drive letter of External Hard Disk (i.e. “E” or “F” or any higher letter. It won’t be “C” or “D” because they are used by internal harddisk and CDROM. Be careful and identify the correct Drive letter of your hard disk.)

type “cd\”. This will take you to the C prompt.

Type “format ?” (where ? is the drive letter of the External Hard Disk like “E:” or “F:”).

Hit enter and it will ask you for the confirmation. Type “y”.

Disk will be formatted easily. Just follow the instructions.

Delete | Remove recycle bin from desktop xp

To Delete or Remove recycle bin from windows XP desktop you need to make changes into the registry.

Registry is a hierarchical database that stores configuration setting of windows.

To Edit the Registry:

Step 1: Click Start >> Run and write regedit.

Regedit stands for registry editor.

Step 2:In registry editor navigate the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

And find the following key : {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

First create its backup in case you do something wrong.

To create backup right click on the Key value and click EXPORT. And save that registry at some location with a file name.

Delete the above key and close the registry editor.

Wait for sometime and see how the icon disappears from the desktop.

To get the recycle bin back you need to recreate the key back with the above value or just Import the .reg file we had exported earlier to get the registry back.

Step 1: Click Start >> Run and write regedit.

Step 2: Click on File and select “Import” and select the .reg file that we had just exported.

Wait for some time and your recycle bin will come back.
